First fieldwork in Jordan

In April, Lucas Oesch spent 3 weeks for the first period of fieldwork in Jordan. His fieldwork focused on the impacts and connections which exist between refugee camps and nearby municipalities. He met with stakeholders and researchers in Amman to discuss the issue in general, and went to the desert town of Azraq to enquire more about these questions in this particular location. He conducted interviews with the municipality, NGOs, local organisations and communities about the impacts and connections between the Azraq refugee camp and the town, mainly in terms of the organisation of refugee reception, infrastructure (water, electricity, waste removal, etc.) and occupational opportunities.
